Sombra

Sale price129,00 kr

Sombra is our Organic, dark-roasted blend, crafted with high-end specialty coffee beans from Mexico and Junín, Peru. Perfect for those who enjoy a strong, bold espresso or an intense black coffee.

"We dedicated a lot of time and effort to sourcing the perfect beans that would maintain their rich flavour and integrity, even under the intense heat of a dark roast. We were fortunate to meet Maxime and Alfonso, a pair of young and passionate coffee artisans behind Edelmira Coffee in Chiapas, Mexico.

Tasting their coffee, we instantly recognised its potential. Even at darker roast levels, these dense beans offer a range of sweet flavours, from caramel to chocolate, with almost no bitterness or sourness. Really impressive for a Mexican coffee!

To add some nuance and complexity, we accented the blend with beans from Junín, Peru. Carefully selected lots from this region bring a gentle brightness and layered sweetness without overshadowing their Mexican counterparts, resulting in a lush, velvety, and intense flavour profile that's truly exceptional."

Sweet and Round

Mexico

In Mexico, we partner closely with Edelmira to source coffees grown under protective forest canopies, supporting biodiversity and sustainable agriculture. Through our Impact Trade initiative, we fund satellite internet connections for local schools, directly improving educational opportunities for children of coffee-farming families.

Bright and Complex

Peru

In Peru, we source our coffee from the central jungle in the Junín region, specifically the districts of Pichanaqui and surrounding areas within the Chanchamayo and Satipo provinces. The coffee is grown at altitudes between 1,000 and 1,800 meters above sea level by members of the Cooperativa Agraria Tropicals Products. Tropicals was founded in 2018 by young professionals from coffee-growing families who wanted greater control over quality and commercialization.
