Our Italian-inspired blend combines speciality Arabica beans from Brazil and Nicaragua with a touch of high-quality Robusta. We roast it dark, extending the development time to bring out a deeper, more intense flavour.
"Another staple of Amokka, Gorgona is our long-running Dark Roast. Much inspired by the Italian coffees of old. Creamy, rich and intense at its best. We add a pinch of Robusta to contrast the smoother Arabica coffee for a more intense and fiery finish.
Roasting dark coffee is all about achieving the right balance and structure in the cup. While roasted flavours are inevitable, our goal is to highlight the natural sweetness without over-charing the beans. For Gorgona, we carefully reach that sweet spot just before the 'Second Crack,' when the beans' internal structure begins to fracture
