HOW WE MAKE FRENCH PRESS

We divided our coffee range into three roast styles.
The roast style will be the main factor in deciding how to brew your coffee.

For all coffee brewing, we recommend using clean and soft water at around 120ppm.

For our light roasts, we recommend using a coffee to water ratio of 1:15 to 1:17. The brewing temperature should be a minimum of 93°C
For medium roasted coffees, we recommend a coffee to water ratio of 1:14 up to a 1:15 with brewing water temperature between 90°C and 93°C.
Dark roasted coffees should be brewed at temperatures below 90°C with coffee to water ratios of 1:14 and below.

Here is a recipe we are using at the roastery:

1. Boil water, weigh and grind coffee.

2. Pour coffee into brewer

3. Pour water

4. Wait 4 minutes

5. Break the crust that forms on top using spoon

6. Scoop foam and floating coffee bits out of the carafe.

7. Wait another 5 minutes

8. Plunge the filter half way, be careful not to disturb coffee ground in the bottom of the carafe.

9. Pour and enjoy!
